When Donna + Andres agreed to meet me under the Brooklyn Bridge at 6:30am on a Saturday morning in April, I knew we were meant for each other. They hired me a few months prior to photograph their wedding in August on Martha’s Vineyard. I had to cancel their on-island engagement session due to high winds and foul weather but offered to travel to THEIR neighborhood for the photo shoot – and they were game.
It couldn’t have been a more perfect day. It was a crystal clear morning with the first of the suns rays reflecting on the East River and then bouncing across Manhattans skyline. There was a slight chill in the air but the wind was silent. I was like a kid in a candy store with a plethora of different backdrops and textures to choose from. Andres pointed out a spot where you can see the Empire State Building in the distance centered between the arches of the Bridge. It was such great fun capturing Donna + Andres enjoying each other, holding hands during an early morning stroll around and over the Brooklyn Bridge.
