In celebration of the 25th Anniversary Season of Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Dr. Daniel Fisher House hosted an afternoon of hors d’oeuvres, wine, and a live jazz performance.  One guest in particular made this event a very special one for those in attendance.  Fellow jazz-lovers mingled with nine-time Grammy Award winning jazz musician Wynton Marsalis, who not only gave a speech, but chatted with attendees, signed autographs and posed for photographs.

The afternoon air buzzed with conversation, laughter and beautiful tunes, while Wynton Marsalis’ presence definitely added to the excitement.  Wynton is currently serving as the Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, and for decades has been a famed trumpeter, composer, and music educator.  In addition to winning many Grammy Awards, he has also won the Pulitzer Prize for Music.

You can learn more about Wynton Marsalis on his website.  Check out his music and you’ll know why such an event was held!
