Move over Martha Stewart, here comes Sweeney + Ledbetter. After twenty years of courtship, Stephen + Paul planned a unique wedding on Martha’s Vineyard. They spread their celebration over a two week time, during which their favorite people visited and celebrated their impending espousal. I had the opportunity to be invited for 1 day per week and witnessed a relaxed approach to the usual urgency some weddings create. Maybe it was their short hair style or a no make-up approach ~ whichever the appropriate ingredients, they were relaxed, jovial and passionate about each other and those that joined them. They planned their ceremony on the 20th year to the day of their first kiss – July 23, 1994. And after a beautiful blessing by mom Sweeney ~ Paul and Stephen recited and exchanged vows and rings with a warm summers breeze and the Edgartown Lighthouse at their backs.
